For a community of summer people, the presence of a prime minister always stirred up a certain amount of pride. The summer people of Saint-Patrice (Rivière-du-Loup) remember the electoral campaigns of Louis-Stephen St-Laurent and, in fact, election posters still hang in some homes! Whether during his years as the country’s leader or once he was a former prime minister, St-Laurent was often invited as an honorary guest to events, as was the case here for a golf tournament on the occasion of Canada’s centennial celebrations.
