As the 20th century went on, the French-speaking professional bourgeoisie grew to enjoy tourist pleasures. Here, members of the Chassé, Pinet, Martin and Demers families travelled by car from Rivière-du-Loup to Métis. At the time this photo was taken, in 1925, the train is still the preferred means of transportation for pleasure travel.
