The omnibus express

Clients milling in front of a hotel and a horse-drawn omnibus for transporting passengers.

These clients of the old Hôtel Tadoussac, built in 1864, probably just got off the omnibus that brought them there from the wharf. This precursor to the bus transported passengers. On the right-hand side of the photograph, we can see a much simpler carriage that was probably used for baggage.

Did you notice the employees wearing aprons on the porch of the second floor?
