On the wharf in Kamouraska

A watercolour depicting three canoes on a wharf and a coastal village in the background.

Canoes on the wharf at Kamouraska.

Watercolour by Blanche Ward (1891‒1981). Private coll. (Pierrette Maurais).

Blanche Ward was a nurse and native of Kamouraska, where she married Dr. Wilfrid Laroche in 1928. He practiced in Saint-Médard de Warwick, near Nicolet. Blanche probably painted this watercolour during holidays with her family in the 1930s or 1940s.
