The summer residences in Saint-Patrice are often located several hundred metres from the beach. To get to the river, one had to take various trails or farm roads, known only to the local farmers and summer people. This photo, taken around 1910, shows a farm road the summer people called “Shady Lane.” Today, this road has been overgrown with vegetation and now is more of a trail.
