Some old newspapers were illustrated with engravings of various subjects, particularly about the summer colonies. This engraving about getting ready for summer vacation reminded readers not just to leave on holiday but to plan the activities they intended to do there. At the bottom of the image, we are reminded that summer is a very good time to get married. And everyone knows that weddings can’t be improvised!
