Summer people and tourists enjoyed the accordionists and fiddlers playing traditional music on the wharves. In the evening, summer people would hire these local musicians and singers to play at their soirées in their grand summer villas or perhaps just around a fire on the shore. Summer people learned traditional French Canadian tunes, while musicians sometimes adapted their repertory to the dances of their English-speaking clients.
