Many summer people (often the women) brought their pens and paintbrushes along on vacation. This photograph was taken in Charlevoix, but it shows a scene common to all watering places. Among the women who left behind images of their summer colony visits are Susan Agnes Macdonald (Saint-Patrice), Anne Savage (Métis) and Jori Smith (Charlevoix).
