This bilingual menu shows the type of food offerings on the steamers in the 1950s. Chicken nuggets, hot dogs and pizza weren’t among the choices! Instead, poultry, veal and fish dishes were generally favourites. The English version offers up “Canadian” ham, probably referring to the typical French Canadian preparation of this dish.
